Premiere for Elsa Billgren’s Vase no. 1
Vase no. 1 is Elsa Billgren’s first design object. We are proud that she has chosen to make it together with Orranäs Glassworks. Vase no. 1 is a unique mouth-blown vase on a foot that fits most flowers and bouquets.
“I have always dreamed of having the opportunity to design the perfect vase that I myself want to have at home and am so happy that Orranäs Glasbruk and I are doing this together. To be able to work with professionals who are skilled in their craft and to see my idea and vision come to life in their studio is absolutely amazing! The vase is a classic vase on a foot with a loop that gives it its unique feel as each vase becomes the only one of its kind. I wanted to design a vase that feels both classic and modern and that fits with all kinds of flowers all year round. Vase no. 1 got its name because it is the first vase I made and because I wanted to create a vase that feels natural and timeless and where the water you have in it becomes part of the beauty. I especially like it when it is filled with peonies, tulips or amaryllis and in my home it moves around between the window, the stove and the coffee table. It’s a wonderful feeling to hold mouth-blown quality glass in your hand in the form of this vase, which is a tribute to Swedish craftsmanship, flowers and the seasons!” – Elsa Billgren
