Emilia Linderholm

My creative work draws a lot of inspiration from the fairy tales of my childhood, as well as from the world of opera. As a child, I loved sitting and reading and hearing about princesses and queens. Both the evil and frightening ones and the good ones.

When I was asked in the fall of 2019 if I wanted to collaborate with glass sculptor Amy Krüger at Orranäs Glassworks in Orrefors, I was very happy.

A female glass sculptor who wanted to try her hand at creating my female figures in glass – what joy! After a long process in the workshop, we are now creating both complete sculptures and just the dresses themselves in glass. For me, the sculptures represent female strength and power. Both the delicate, romantic and the powerful.

What confidence and happiness a truly beautiful dress can bring! Each sculpture is unique in color and shape, even though the basis is the same, as everything is mouth-blown and sculpted in the heat and warmth of the fire.
