The Glass Studio

The glassworks is the heart of Orranäs Glasbruk – the place where it all begins. This is where tradition meets innovation, craftsmanship meets art, and fire meets glowing creativity.

After the fire in 2023, we had the opportunity to rebuild the studio. It was a chance for a fresh start – to create a modern and sustainable workplace where we can take glass and craftsmanship into the future. Today, the studio is one of the most modern in Sweden, with technology and solutions that enable us to work more resource-efficiently and with a smaller climate footprint. We conserve energy, reuse glass, and work with recycling at every stage.

Here, our skilled glassblowers work together with designers and artists from different backgrounds. Together, we explore the possibilities of glass – in everything from unique works of art and special orders to innovative collaborations and hands-on experiences for visitors.

In the glassworks, you can experience glassmaking up close. Feel the heat from the furnace, hear the sound of the pipe, and see how the glowing mass is shaped into something beautiful and alive. Under the guidance of our experienced masters, children aged 8 and up can also try their hand at blowing their own glass – a memory that will sparkle for a long time to come.

The glow in our furnace never fades. Here, creation is a daily occurrence – sustainable, warm, and with equal parts craftsmanship and heart.
