Awakening – New Exhibition at Orranäs Glassworks

Starting April 25, Orranäs Glassworks will present the exhibition *Awakening* by Amanda Lund Socia and Beck Lund Socia.

Awakening is an acclaimed exhibition that was shown at Solliden Palace in the summer of 2025, where it was met with great appreciation from both the public and critics. Now it is being brought to life in our large exhibition hall, where visitors have the opportunity to experience the artists’ expressive and contemporary glass up close.

About the exhibition

In the exhibition Awakening, we are presented with unique glass art. The exhibition offers us new perspectives and insights into our existence and our relationship to ourselves, to other people, and perhaps even to life itself. Through the exhibition’s various installations, the artists raise questions about our origins, how we choose to view life, our relationship to time, and the different dimensions of the universe. What happens when we dare to follow our intuition and look beyond what we can see with the naked eye?

About the artists

Amanda Lund Socia and Beck Lund Socia both trained at the National Glass School in Nybro and have previously worked for Orrefors Kosta Boda. Today, they are affiliated with Orranäs Glasbruk. In 2021, Amanda received the Ulrica Hydman Vallien scholarship. Awakening is the artists’ first major joint exhibition. It was on display in 2025 in the English Park at Solliden.

About the Exhibition Hall

The Exhibition Hall is a space designed to let in plenty of natural light, providing the perfect setting to showcase the beautiful glass objects.

The exhibition hall regularly hosts special exhibitions related to glassmaking, glass art, the local region, and its shared history.

Currently at the museum

This year, Orranäs Glassworks is presenting the exhibition in the main exhibition hall. At the same time, the Treasures of the Kingdom of Glass continue to showcase their unique historical glass in the museum’s galleries.

These collections from the heyday of the Kingdom of Glass are currently being organized, and the opening will take place on May 30.
