Glass artist Amy Krüger always challenges and surprises viewers with her craftsmanship. With a perfect balance between humor and seriousness, she creates thought-provoking works of art that elicit both smiles and reflection.
Amy trained at Kosta Glass Center and the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts (KADK) and has since worked with glass in various parts of Scandinavia. As a glassmaker and artist at Orranäs Glassworks in Orrefors, she has developed her own style that combines traditional glassblowing craftsmanship with contemporary artistic ideas.
Her work combines the playful and the conceptual – sometimes through sculptural figures, sometimes through more subtle forms where the light and movement of the glass speak for themselves. Glass is used not only as a material but also as a storyteller; a way to explore memories, everyday objects and the relationship between humans and matter.
Amy Krüger’s art is both accessible and complex. She draws the viewer into the world of glass with a twinkle in her eye, but also with a deep seriousness that raises questions about form, function, and meaning. The result is works of art that constantly change with the light—as alive as the glass itself.
