For Amy Krüger, glass art is about playfulness and magic. She is fascinated by the contrast between the fluid warmth of glass and its cold fragility once it has cooled. In her hands, the material becomes both a story and a mirror—a way to explore how light, form, and memory come together.
Amy was born in 1987 in Tyringe and trained at Kosta Glascenter and the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts (KADK) on Bornholm. She has over twenty years of experience in glassblowing and currently works as a master glassblower at Orranäs Glasbruk in Glasriket, where she combines traditional craftsmanship with a contemporary design language.
Her artistry is characterized by a naive seriousness—where the everyday takes on poetic dimensions.
“Fiskpåse” (The Fish Bag) is an example of this. Inspired by a childhood memory of buying goldfish in a bag, Amy lets the glass mimic the movement and clarity of water.
