 11-13 demo Heidi Kristiansen

Heidi is a Norwegian glass craftswoman and artist based in Lofoten. She experiments with old techniques, explores their limits and creates new expressions for our time. Her works are characterized by a colorful, playful aesthetic inspired by pop art, personal experiences and social themes. She balances humor and seriousness, explores contrasts and invites the viewer into a universe where color, shape and movement convey the joy of craftsmanship and a respect for the possibilities of the material.

“There is no pause or time to think once you have started working with an object. It is presence from start to finish”

14-16 demo Ned Cantrell

Ned Cantrell, master sculptor and renowned glass artist. His art is characterized by playfulness and illusions – glass that looks like plastic, skin or toys.

“The noble tradition of glassblowing meets the banality of popular culture”.

Ned’s signature is the inflatable shark “Inflatable Shark” made of glass. At a quick glance, it looks cheap and factory-made. In fact, it is exclusive, made of glass and with elements of grail technology.

Meet Ned, who will be our temporary cabin master for the coming year.

11-13 demo Tillie Burden

Tillie is a skilled glass sculptor, recently graduated from Konstfack. Tillie often explores everyday objects or nature themes. She uses surrealism and symbolism to convey the poetic and humorous nature of how our reality is always perceived through our own subjective filters.

Tillie will make her Tulip Vase, inspired by the Art Nouveau period in Orrefors.

“The vase is a way of honoring history and bringing it into a contemporary context.”
